Chiang Saen Black Swan
Chiang Saen black swan pattern in the "Teen Jok" skirt is a hand-woven fabric to be connected to the foot of the skirt. "Jok" is a northern native word, meaning to pick up because in this type of weaving, there will be a pattern weaving on the fabric using porcupine wool or wooden spikes or picking threads of different colors up and down to be a pattern, especially the identity of the ancient Chiang Saen skirt, becoming a unique pattern which is the black swan or the Chiang Saen swan. The pattern of the swan is assumed that it was influenced by stucco patterns decorating the Khong arch house. (The entrance arch in the area of Phutthawat or Viharn decorated with stucco patterns representing animals in the Himmapan forest. Himmapan Forest (According to the Universe) which spread throughout Lanna as an influence passed on from the propagation of Buddhism to Lanna society It is considered an ancient pattern that found common characteristics of such patterns of ancient fabrics in different areas of the North in Thailand
