Characteristic
The special characteristics of the famous Nakhon Si Thammarat cloth comes from the detailed patter,. especially the pattern at the foot. The fabric is not the same as other regions. It looks like a weaver's way of carving a unique pattern with raising the flower on a separate line making it possible to lift any number of lines at a time. The creation of the pattern is therefore particularly beautiful. To be able to weave strange fabrics, a large amount of heddle was needed and in Nakhon Si Thammarat, used to use up to 70 - 80 heddle, special weaving patterns, so there are 3-4 people helpers to lift heddle.
Even the golden robes that weavers call "size 12 horns" that weave a pattern with a flower as big as the palm of the hand and 39 inches wide, it still takes a weaver and 3 assistants to weave it successfully.
