Mak Beng pattern (Benjalak of Bueng Kan)
Mak Beng pattern (Ben Jalak of Bueng Kan) is a fabric pattern that has been developed further to indicate the identity of Bueng Kan Province reflecting the geography, way of life, culture and beliefs, the legend of the Naga of the Mekong River Basin community based on Buddhism consists of 5 things that are blended into fabric patterns. These include the Mekong River, Naga, Three-Whale Stones, Mak Beng and Sirindhorn Valley flowers. The pattern is placed at the bottom as the Mekong River. Above the river, there is a 9 -headed serpent facing left and right. The body is covered with two rows of three-whale stones, which are laid in a fidhbone style. Between the heads of the two Nagas, there is a Sirindhorn Valley tree that blooms at the top. Next is a Kham Mak Beng that connects between the patterns and so on.
The fabric color reflecting the identity of Bueng Kan province is "purple-white", meaning the color of the province of Bueng Kan. Purple is a symbol of wealth, riches, glory and wonder. White means purity, goodness, virtuousness."
