Phayom trees and flowers are related to the way of life of the Phayom people because there are so many sapwood that the house was named after the plant, Ban Pa Phayom . Phayom Tree is a big tree that is unique to Pa Phayom Sub-District. Villagers in the past used sap wood to build houses. Phayom flowers are white to light yellow, with a strong aroma, bloomed in bouquet of branches at the axillary and at the end of the branch hanging down and twisted, lead to a humble character, because Phayom is like giving consent, agreeing to compromise. It is also believed that it will not be needy because people have in ancient times called any house that planted a sap in the house will have a humble character sympathy and giving in to good things. In addition, the appearance of the flowers is golden yellow and fragrant. At present, the Phayom tree is a royal plant species to be planted as an auspicious tree in Phatthalung province and Phayom flower is the provincial flower of Phatthalung. From the relationship of the villagers of Pa Phayom with the Phayom tree and the Phayom flower that has been there for a long time and to show the symbol of Pa Phayom District and of Phatthalung Province. Therefore, the name Phayom flower was used to be the name of the fabric pattern that represents the identity of Phatthalung Province.
